DISA Equipment – in conjunction with a network of carefully selected distributors – supplies and supports a wide range of construction equipment in Southern Africa. This range of Develon excavators, wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks (ADT’s) and Everdigm attachments, is enhanced by a technical advisory, repair and support service, to ensure optimum efficiency and safety of every machine.
Develon DX220LCA-2 and DX300LC-7M excavators have been developed for applications that require strong digging power, efficient operation and reliable uptime on tough sites. Although these two excavators are positioned in different operating classes, both machines combine proven engine technology, durable structures and hydraulic systems designed for smooth, responsive control.
The DX220LCA-2 is a practical and efficient 20-ton class excavator, well suited to everyday excavation, loading, trenching and breaker work. This machine is powered by a Develon DB58TIS engine, with net power of 109 kW at 1 800 rpm. Its operating mass is 20 800 kg, with bucket capacities from 0.92 m³ to 1.08 m³, a maximum digging depth of 6 595 mm and a reach at ground level of 9 700 mm.
According to customer feedback, the DX220LCA-2 is a dependable all-round productive machine that is economical to operate. The combination of fuel efficiency, operator comfort and durable components, makes this excavator suitable for working in varied site conditions.
A key feature of the DX220LCA-2 machine is reduced operating costs. Design enhancements to the hydraulic system, main pump and machine control valve help optimise fuel consumption, while pump matching technology improves the synergy between engine output and hydraulic demand. The auto idle feature also reduces unnecessary fuel use when the operator pauses work.
For challenging applications involving rock breaking and demolition preparation, the DX220LCA-2 can be specified with a breaker package that includes a breaker pedal, joystick-mounted breaker button and a dedicated return line filter to help protect hydraulic components during breaker operations.
The larger DX300LC-7M excavator has been designed for customers who need greater capacity, reach and productivity in heavier applications. Powered by a Develon DL08 engine, the machine delivers net power of 138 kW at 1 800 rpm and has an operating mass of 31 800 kg. Standard bucket capacity ranges from 0.8 m³ to 1.75 m³, with a reach at ground level of 9 905 mm, a maximum digging depth of 6 650 mm and a maximum dumping height of 7 035 mm.
The DX300LC-7M incorporates intelligent power management features, including Smart Power Control and pump matching technology, to help balance power and fuel efficiency. The electronically controlled pump and Electronic Power Optimising System are designed to ensure precise hydraulic response, efficient operation and consistent productivity in demanding work cycles.
Durability is central to the design of both excavators. The DX220LCA-2 uses reinforced heavy-duty boom and arm structures, robust frames and proven hydraulic components, while the DX300LC-7M features strengthened boom and arm construction, improved track components, reinforced undercarriage elements and protection against site debris and external impact.
Operator comfort and control are important features of these machines. The DX220LCA-2 has a spacious cab, a practical monitor layout and joystick controls that place frequently used functions within easy reach. The DX300LC-7M offers an 8-inch LCD monitor, improved air conditioning and defrosting, enhanced visibility and optional camera systems to assist operators in maintaining awareness around the machine.
Ease of maintenance is another important advantage. Ground-level service access, improved filtration, water separation and pre-cleaning systems help protect key components and reduce downtime.
Optional telematics on both machines enables monitoring of location, operating hours, fuel information, machine warnings and maintenance planning, assisting fleet owners with improved utilisation and preventive service management.
Customers in demanding construction, earthmoving, quarrying and general plant-hire applications require machines that work hard, are straightforward to maintain and can be supported efficiently throughout their service life.
DISA Equipment’s focus is not only on helping customers select machines suited to specific application, site conditions and productivity requirements, but also on supporting customers through parts, service and technical support.
